Our aistear theme for last month was 'Space'. Have a look at our space station that the children got to play at and the wonderful artwork that we created based on the theme of space. The children created their own aliens and described them after. Aren't they so cool? 🤩
This week we went shopping as Gaeilge! Children have been learning new vocabulary as part of our Siopadóireacht topic in Irish. Children were asked to ceannaigh (buy) several food items which they paid for using their money and placed them into their shopping bag. Bhí craic iontach againn! 👍🏼😁 The children in our class have spoke and they chose to do a survey on hair colour in the classroom. The results are recorded in the bar graph below. We also carried out a survey on our favourite fruits, where children had an opportunity to write their name on a post it note and stick it under their favourite fruit. Once again the results are below. Majority voted for watermelon as their favourite fruit and if my vote was there it would most certainly be under watermelon too! Yummmm! 😋 This week we have been super busy in our class. We have been learning new sounds, reading and writing words and practicing number formation.
We even collected data based on the colour of cars parked in our school car park and represented this data using blocks and bar graphs. Have a look at our wonderful work here. Bakery was part of our Aistear theme for the month of April. So in order for the children to experience baking that little bit further we brought bakery to our classroom!
The children had great fun watching how the dough for biscuits is made. They got a chance to play with flour and then mould and decorate their piece of dough into biscuits. |
