Feeling the Love!
As part of our school's Restorative Practice journey, we are really enjoying learning about its values which have the acronym FRIENDS.
We learnt about something called a "Love Bomb". This is when you spread love and kindness to someone and it really makes them feel special.
We made beautiful heart sun catchers which we stuck on our window. To do this, we cut out little pieces of coloured tissue paper, we then stuck them onto laminating pouches and then Emer laminated them for us. After that, we cut out the heart shape!

There was so much love and kindness in our class that we had just had to show it on our "Love Bomb Tracker". Every time we are kind or helpful to each other we get to fill in a heart!
The giraffe is the animal that we always talk about in Restorative Practice because it has the biggest heart of all land animals and it uses it's long neck to see things from other people's perspectives. If we are being kind and calm then we are being like a giraffe. We can ask ourselves "Did you Giraffe? to check if we were being kind to others!
We also learnt about the crocodile. If we are acting like the crocodile then we are being snappy and a little angry. It's important to know if we are being like a crocodile because then we can remind ourselves to be more like a giraffe again :)
We have a little soft giraffe toy in our classroom. We voted to call him/her Fluffy! We LOVE when Fluffy talks to us about kindness.
We have loved learning about giraffe's so much that we created gorgeous giraffe art work. We tucked away one finger and traced the other four to create a giraffe outline. We then coloured the spots on, added googly eyes, and a smile!
